RAB nabs 10 ARSA members including Chief, Deputy Chief from Narayanganj, Mymensingh

DHAKA, March 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 10 members of the armed rebel group in Myanmar's Rakhine state Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) including its commander and second-in -command and three female members in separate raids conducted in Mymensingh and Narayanganj districts on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The arrestees include ARSA commander Ataullah Abu Ammar Jununi (48) and it's second in command Mostaq Ahmed (66).
 
The other arrested members are: Moniruzzaman (33), Salimullah (27), Asmaul Husna (23), Md. Hasan (15), Asmat Ullah (24) , Md. Hasan (43), Shahina (22) and Senwara (17).
 
Acting on an intelligence information, two squads of RAB-11 arrested the ARSA men after conducting two separate raids in Bhumipalli residential area under Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj district and in Notun Bazar Garden City area at Notun Bazar intersection in Mymensingh district, on March 16 and March 17, said a RAB press release.
 
During the raids, RAB seized Tk 51,39,100 in cash, US dollars and Ringgit, some foreign currencies, ARSA combat uniforms, mobile phones, knives, steel chains and watches from their possessions.
 
The arrested ARSA members have been handed over to the respective police stations through legal process.
