Gang rape fugitive accused nabbed in Dhaka

DHAKA, March 21, 2025 (BSS) - Police on Thursday arrested a fugitive accused
in a gang rape case of Panchagarh district from the capital's Kamlapur
Railway Station.

The arrested was Md. Saddam, 32, one of the fugitive and wanted accused in a
gang rape case No. 05 (04) 22 with Sadar Police Station of Panchagarh
district in 2022.

After receiving secret information, a Detective Branch (DB) team of Dhaka
Railway Police arrested the accused around 10.30pm from Kamlapur Railway
Station on Thursday, said a police press release.

The accused fled from Panchagarh immediately after the incident and came to
Dhaka and was in hiding for three years, it said.

The trial of the gang rape case against him and others is ongoing in the
Panchagarh court, the release added.
