IU students hold protest march against Israel's genocide

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, March 21, 2025 (BSS) - Students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia brought out a protest march against the Israeli occupation and genocide in Gaza.

The agitating students gathered in front of the university's central mosque after Jum'a prayers today. Later, in a procession, they paraded important roads on the campus.

During the procession, the protesters chanted various slogans such as 'Palestine er karone, bhoy korina morone' (We're not afraid of deaths for the sake of Palestine) and 'Badar er hatiyaar, gorje uthok arekbar' (Let the weapons of the Battle of Badr revive again) etc.

Following the protest march, they demonstrators held a brief rally in front of the administrative building.

Islami Chhatra Andolon's IU unit President Ismail Hossain Rahat, Anti-discrimination Student Movement Co-coordinator Nahid Hasan, Islami Chhatra Shibir's IU branch Secretary General Yousuf Ali and Coordinator SM Sweet addressed the rally, among others.

The speakers drew attention of the global Muslim leaders for a ceasefire in Gaza.

They claimed that the world leaders are silent in the Palestine issue.

"The Arabs are not paying attention to our Palestinian brothers and sisters. Fascist Netanyahu is killing women, children and unarmed civilians every day," said one of the speakers.
