BGB chief distributes prizes among winners of Azan, Qirat competition

DHAKA, March 21, 2025 - (BSS) – Paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) organized an ‘Azan and Qirat Competition’ to encourage its soldiers to practice with correct pronunciation and melodiousvoice.

BGB Director General (DG) Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui distributed prizes and trophies among the winners at a ceremony at the BGB Central Mosque in Jumma Pilkhana here, said a BGB release today.

Soldiers and civilian officers of all levels of BGB were present on the occasion.

The three-day competition started at the central Jame-Masjid at the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana on March 19, 2025 and ended today with the distribution of awards and trophy.

A total of 38 contestants from different sectors of the BGB participated in the competition. Lance Naek Md. Abdul Gafur Khan, who works at Mymensingh Battalion (39 BGB) under the Mymensingh Sector secured the 1st place in the competition while Sipahi Ibrahim Kamal of Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) under Kushtia Sector secured the 2nd position.

On the other hand, Sipahi Mohammad Ali Hossain of the Nildumur Battalion (17 BGB) under Khulna sector secured the 1st position in the Qirat competition and Sipahi Md Ismail Hossain of Ramu Battalion (30 BGB) obtained the 2nd position.
