IF Director General Salam Khan presided over the seminar while Islamic Foundation Board Governor and Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh Secretary General Shaikhul Hadith Allama Mahfuzul Haque spoke on the occasion as the main discussants.

Shaikhul Hadith Allama Neyamatullah Al-Faridi, Muhtamim of Shibchar Jame'atus Sunnah Madrasah in Madaripur, Joint Secretary of the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner's Office Md Abdur Rahim, IF Directors Md Anisur Rahman Sarkar, Mohiuddin Mahin and Md Abdul Hamid Khan and Deputy Directors Humayun Kabir and Abul Kashem also spoke, among others.

Salam Khan said that according to the command of the Almighty Allah, the Zakat must be given to ensure equitable distribution of wealth between the rich and the poor.

He said the use of technology can be further increased to ensure the equitable distribution of zakat in the country.

"Our scholars (alem-ulema) must convince everyone that zakat is an obligatory act of worship," he added.

Mahfuzul Haque said, "We have a lot more to do to make the collection and distribution of zakat smooth. We are determined to ensure zakat."

Neyamatullah Al-Faridi said, if the people of Bangladesh pay zakat correctly, there will be no poor people in the country.

If zakat is paid correctly, there will be no people taking zakat in the country after two years, he hoped.
