Travel ban imposed on ex-MP Shikhor, wife

DHAKA, March 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today issued a travel ban on former Magura-1 lawmaker Saifuzzaman Shikhor and his wife Sima Rahman over graft allegations.


Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).


ACC Public Relations Division Deputy Director Aktarul Islam confirmed the matter.


In the application, the ACC said a case was filed at the ACC Integrated District Office on January 7 after investigation into allegations of acquiring and aiding in amassing assets inconsistent with known income against Shikhor and his wife Sima. 


It is imperative to issue an order prohibiting the two accused from traveling abroad until the investigation into the case is completed in the interest of a fair investigation.
