211 persons nabbed by DMP patrols, checkposts; 54 cases  filed

DHAKA, March 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has rounded up 211 individuals operating 
patrols and checkposts as part of its security 
arrangements across the city.

In the last 24 hours it has operated 667 patrol teams 
and 71 checkposts, and the patrol teams performed duties 
in two shifts for public safety under its 50 police 
stations from 12:01am to 11:59pm on Sunday, according to 
the DMP’s Crime Command and Control Center. 

Out of these, 340 teams performed duties at night, while 
327 teams during the day. 

The patrol teams include 479 mobile patrol teams, 73 
foot patrol teams, and 115 motorcycle patrol teams. 

In addition, 71 police checkposts are operated by the 
DMP at various important and strategic locations to 
enhance security in the metropolitan area.

In the last 24 hours, 211 people involved in various 
crimes were arrested in the combined operations 
conducted in different areas of the city.

The arrestees include four robbers, 23 professional 
active muggers, two extortionists, 15 thieves, 33 
individuals wanted in previous cases, and 23 identified 
drug dealers.

In the operation, the law enforcers seized different 
homemade weapons, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, four mobile 
phones and some currencies of Oman.

In addition, the recovered drugs included 193 pieces of 
contraband Yaba tablets, 25.7 grams of heroin and 
2.292kgs of ganja.

In the last 24 hours, 54 cases were filed with different 
police stations of DMP.
