BMU outdoor, emergency to remain open during Eid holidays

DHAKA, March 27, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) will keep its outdoor and emergency services open during Eid holidays. 

Vice-chancellor of BMU Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam has given instructions to authorities concerned aimed at ensuring healthcare services during the Eid holidays, according to a press release issued today.

As per the directives, outdoor of the medical university will remain open on March 29 and April 2 and provide treatment facilities to patients, it said.

The release said Director of the BMU Brigadier General Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin will oversee treatment facility from 10am to 1pm.

Besides, the indoor and emergency will remain open for healthcare services every day following regular schedule and laboratory activities will also be continued, it added.

Registrar of the university Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam signed the statement, saying the outdoor will remain closed on March 28, 30, 31 and April 1, 3 and 4 on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

During the holidays, from March 29 to April 3, all classes, office, afternoon specialized consultation service, super specialized consultation service of hospital will remain closed.

The Vice-chancellor also gave direction to provide improved diets to patients on the Eid day.

The Eid congregation will be held at 8am at central mosque of the university. Later, the Eid reunion will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 on April 5.
