CHATTOGRAM, May 9, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said if voted to power, BNP would attach the highest priority to attracting and promoting investment from home and abroad through de-regulating and democratizing the economy for sustainable growth.

“Creating jobs for huge unemployed youth and facilitating trade and investment are the core of the party’s Vision-2030 and 31-points proposals,” he said categorically pointing out that “an elected government having people’s mandate and political stability are main preconditions to lure the foreign investors in the country”.

He also said that his party, if voted to power, will create one crore new jobs within 18 months of assuming power.

Amir Khasru made the remarks while addressing as chief guest the concluding session of a seminar titled “Youth's thoughts on employment generation and multi-dimensional industrialization”, held at a local community center in the city.

“We assured of and made it clear the BNP’s economic policy to the foreign investors gathered during Investment Summit as we desperately feel for FDI as well as local investment for accelerating the economic growth” he added.

Referring to the time-befitting decision by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to promote garments industry in the country through liberal economic policy, including Back-To-Back LC facility, Amir Khasru said BNP has a plan to introduce such policy for at least 15-20 prospective sectors to strengthen the backbone of the economy.

Amir Khasru said, “We had ousted autocratic regime but could not yet establish an elected government”.

Regarding New Political arrangement, he said, “BNP has announced to materialize Vision 2030 and 31-point outline through a democratic process as a part of the New Political arrangement.”
