DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today showed former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder arrested in an arms case filed with the city's Banani Police Station.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziadur Rahman passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to show him arrested in the case. The court after that sent Mojumder back to jail.

Earlier, Banani Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Md Jane Alam Dulal filed the case on May 22, 2025, for keeping two firearms, whose licenses have been revoked by the government through a gazette issued on August 25, 2024. The government had ordered to surrender the weapons by September 3, 2024, but the former state minister failed to comply with the order.

Police also did not find anyone after visiting the address given in the license of the weapons.

Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was arrested from his Gulshan home on October 18, 2024.
