CID arrests cheater for transfer over Taka 8 lakh from bank account

DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS)- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today arrested a person for cheating with customer of a private bank.

The arrestee was identified as Ruhul Amin,42, son of Sheikh Tara Miah of Khalashi Dangi village under Char Bhadrashan upazila of Faridpur district.

The CID said the arrested person transferred Taka 8,40,000 from the account of private bank customer after taking the OTP from him in a fraudulent manner.

The victim lodged a case in this regard with Ramna Model Thana in Dhaka on March 25. The case was later shifted to the Dhaka Metro South unit of the CID for investigation. 

Using information technology and intelligence, CID finally arrested the cheater Ruhul Amin today from Faridpur
