KHULNA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) – The Khulna office of the Mongla Port Authority (MPA) has resumed its operations today (Wednesday) to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of the post authorities.

As part of this initiative, the Chairman’s office has also been inaugurated at Khalishpur in Khulna city, according to a press release issued by Md Makruzzaman, deputy secretary of Public Relations of the MPA.

The Mongla Port users said that since the majority of businesses and port-related organizations are based in Khulna, setting up an operational office there will significantly facilitate port-related tasks. This move is expected to save time and effort for users in completing export-import related activities quickly and efficiently.

The decision to reopen the Khulna office reflects the fulfillment of a commitment made by the Advisor to the Ministry of Shipping, as well as a timely response to the requests of port stakeholders.

The operational activities of Mongla Port were originally relocated from Khulna to Mongla on December 1, 1986.

Later, in 1987, most of the remaining offices and infrastructure were also moved to Mongla.
