DHAKA, June 6, 2025 (BSS) - BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman received his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman upon her arrival at London airport.

BNP sources said Zubaida will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with her family there.

Earlier, after staying in the country for a month, she left for London on a flight of Qatar Airlines from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:55 am on Thursday (BST).

BNP Chairperson's security officer Brigadier General (retd) AKM Shamsul Islam Shams, Dhaka Division's Assistant Organizing Secretary Nazrul Islam Azad, Tarique Rahman's former personal assistant Mia Nur Uddin Ahmed Apu and BNP Media Cell member Atiqur Rahman Rumon bid farewell to Zubaida Rahman at the airport.

After four months of advanced treatment in London, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia returned to the country on May 6 with her two daughters-in-law Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman (late Arafat Rahman Koko's wife).

Tarique Rahman, who fell ill after being tortured in prison during the 11-11 government, went to London for better treatment on bail from the Supreme Court, accompanied by his wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman.

After that, various false cases were filed against Tarique Rahman and Zubaida Rahman during the Awami League government.
