TANGAIL, June 13, 2025 (BSS) - The accumulated toll collection on the Jamuna Bridge has significantly increased over the past 24 hours due to a large influx of vehicles on the Dhaka-Tangail highway, particularly during the Eid travel period.

A total of 38,539 vehicles crossed the Jamuna Bridge, generating a toll revenue of Taka 2,79,69,200 during this time.

Executive Engineer of Jamuna Sight Office Ahsanul Kabir Pavel confirmed this to BSS, saying that from Wednesday midnight (12am) to Thursday midnight, a total of 16,380 vehicles were heading towards the northern region, generating a toll revenue of Taka 1,29,24,250 while 22,159 vehicles travelled towards Dhaka, contributing to a toll collection of Taka 1,50,44,950.

The Jamuna Bridge experiences a high volume of vehicle traffic, with approximately 26 vehicles passing through per minute during the period, he said.

The Dhaka-bound lane of the highway, despite experiencing increased vehicle pressure, is currently free of traffic jams. No major traffic congestion has been reported so far, and vehicles are moving smoothly, Pavel added.
