Six dacoits remanded in case for attacking policeman

DHAKA, June 13, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed six dacoits on a two-
day remand each in a case lodged over attacking an off-duty policeman in the 
city's Pallabi kitchen market area.

The remanded accused are Al Amin, 36, Amin, 29, Md Rajib, 36, Md Bablu, 35, 
Md Farukh,30, and Sumon, 19.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah passed the order as police 
produced the six before the court and pleaded to place them on a five-day 
remand each.

According to the case documents, Inspector Md Masudur Rahman, who was on 
leave, of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Faridpur District Unit went 
for grocery shopping in the kitchen market in the morning of June 12. At 
around, 10.30 am, the accused attacked him with local weapons and assaulted 
him. They snatched his mobile, wristwatch, a gold chain and cash from him.

As the locals began to appear, the attackers quickly escape the scene. 
Inspector Masud after taking primary treatment at the local hospital, filed 
the case with the Pallabi Police Station against those six and 12 unnamed 
others.

Police earlier this morning arrested the six from the Pallabi kitchen market 
area.
