2 friends killed in motorcycle accident in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 13, 2025 (BSS) - Two friends were killed when their motorcycle hit the back of a dumper truck at Maulvi Dokan area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway under Satkhania upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased were identified as Md. Rafi Chowdhury, son of Nazim Uddin Liton and Md. Bappi, son of Md. Babul. Both hailed from the city’s Badamtal Bahaddarhat area under Chandgaon police station. 

According to family sources of the deceased, Rafi and Bappi along with some friends left their Bahaddarhat residences for Bandarban on a motorcycle at around 6 am. 

Rafi Chowdhury and  Bappi were on a motorcycle when they reached the Maulvi Dokan under Satkania thana around 8 am. The motorcycle carrying them hit the back of a dumper truck parked next to the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway. Both of them were seriously injured.

 At that time, other friends in their group with the help of locals took Md. Rafi Chowdhury to the Dohazari Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. 

Md. Bappi, who was seriously injured, was taken to a private hospital in Keranihat, where he passed away. Dohazari Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shuvranjan Chakma said that the motorcycle hit the back of the dumper truck parked next to the highway. 

The bodies of the two deceased have been handed over to their families after completing legal procedures.
