Boro harvesting going on in full swing in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, June 14, 2025 (BSS) - The harvesting of Boro paddy is going on full swing in all seven upazilas of the district, expecting a bumper production.

The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said they set a target of producing a total of 2,50,159 metric tons of clean rice from 48,895 hectares of land during the current season in the district.

The DAE office sources said the Boro cultivators are expecting a bumper production as they got all the Agri inputs including seeds and fertilizer, in due time and the favourable climatic weather was prevailing all over the district.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Dr. Robiah Noor Ahmed, said that to make boro cultivation a grand success, necessary measures were taken to supply quality seeds, fertilizers Insecticides and other Agri inputs to the farmers timely at fair prices side by side with ensuring power supply by the Power Development Board (PDB) and Rural Electrification Board (REB) for irrigation.

The cultivation of Boro generally starts in late as the Boro is cultivated after the harvesting of mustard in Manikganj, the DAE office sources said.
