DHAKA, June 14, 2025 (BSS) - Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Islam today said those who committed crimes against humanity and mass killings in 1971 and in July Uprising in 2024 must be brought to justice.

"The justice must be made visible," he said after paying rich tribute to Central Shaheed Minar in the city marking the 21st founding anniversary of the party.

He said the Biplobi Workers Party is always with the struggles in every democratic movement, every movement of working people, people's rights and every movement of protecting the country's independence and sovereignty over the past 21 years.

"Many of us have been martyred in those struggles and many have been injured. We have also had to face numerous lawsuits in those struggles," he said.

Saiful Islam said the Biplobi Workers Party is one of the few parties that continued to fight on the streets against the Awami fascist regime.

"Even after November 28, 2023, when many didn't dare to take to the streets in fear of the police, we stood on the streets. Even in the July Uprising, our leaders and activists were injured and lost their lives. We must protect the achievements of the July Uprising at any cost," he said.

He hoped that the National Consensus Commission will complete its work by this June-July. And they will take effective initiatives so that all political parties can sign the July Charter, he added.

He prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs who were brutally killed in 1971 and July Uprising in 2024.

He also expressed condemned over the attack on Iran by Israel.

Party's political council members Mofazzal Hossain Moshtaq, Ansar Ali Dulal and Abu Hasan Tipu, among others, spoke.
