JCD holds tree plantation campaign in Cox's Bazar, Cumilla

DHAKA, June 15, 2025 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has arranged tree plantation campaign in Cox's Bazar and Cumilla in line with the call of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to mark World Environment Day.

In a statement issued earlier, Tarique Rahman emphasized the importance of combating environmental pollution and reiterated his vision of building a greener Bangladesh.

As part of the 15-day programme, various district units of Chhatra Dal have undertaken coordinated tree plantation drives in different parts of the country.

In Cox's Bazar, the city unit of Chhatra Dal conducted tree plantation drives in several areas, following directives by the JCD central committee.

Leaders and activists of the organization planted a variety of fruit, flower and medicinal trees to raise environmental awareness among students and residents.

In Cumilla, the South District Chhatra Dal organized plantation activities at multiple educational institutions in Jagannathpur union of Adarsha Sadar Upazila and the Bibir Bazar area.
