DMP files 1,580 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,580 cases against motor vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Saturday (August 16) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

According to the DMP Media and Public Relations Division sources, a total of 283 motor vehicles were dumped and 127 vehicles were towed due to poor driving practices.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
