DHAKA, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) – Authorities related to traffic management have launched a new automated signaling system at seven intersections in the city on pilot basis aiming to ease Dhaka’s notorious traffic jam, an official statement said here today.

The Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) statement named the seven points as Hotel Intercontinental, Banglamotor, Sonargaon, Farmgate, Bijoy Sarani, Chief Adviser’s Office, and Jahangir Gate intersections.

It said apart from the DTCA, city corporations for northern and southern Dhaka, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET and Dhaka Metropolitan Police would jointly oversee the experimental signaling system under a project.

“The new automated signaling system was launched yesterday at these seven intersections,” an official familiar with the development said adding the project aimed to install the system at 22 intersections across the capital in phases.
