Tarique Rahman bears expenses of wedding of slain Oli's daughter

DHAKA, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman had borne the expenses of wedding ceremony of Sadia Sultana, the second daughter of slain Oliullah Molla Oli, the general secretary of Kashimari Union BNP of Shyamnagar Thana in Satkhira district, who was killed in police firing in 2016.  

Wedding ceremony of Sadia was held this afternoon.

A delegation of 'Amra BNP Paribar' handed over gifts and special financial assistance for the wedding ceremony on behalf of Tarique Rahman.

Sadia Sultana's wedding ceremony was attended among others by Amra BNP Paribar member secretary agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, organization's advisor Abul Kashem, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal's central joint general secretary Hasnain Nahian Sajeeb, Dhaka College Chhatra Dal member Abdullah Al Misbah.

BNP's national executive committee member and former MP Kazi Alauddin, Satkhira district BNP joint convener Dr. Moniruzzaman, former joint secretary of Chhatra Dal's central committee Aminur Rahman Amin, former Shyamnagar Upazila BNP convener Solaiman Kabir, former municipal BNP convener Sheikh Liaquat Ali Babu, Mohila Dal's central committee member Nurjahan Parvin Jharna, Satkhira district Jubo Dal's cultural affairs secretary S. I. Asha were also present.

BNP leader Oliullah Molla Oli was killed in a police firing on July 10, 2016. In 2024, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman also took charge of the wedding ceremony of the late Oli's eldest daughter, Naima Sultana.
