JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) – Students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) staged demonstrations today protesting the recent attack on Chittagong University (CU) students.

They also demanded justice for the victims and called for stern action against the perpetrators.

The students formed a human chain at the university’s main entrance around 4 pm.

The programme was attended by leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Council (BDSC), Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, several left-leaning student organisations, and general students.

Speakers at the event demanded exemplary punishment for those involved in the attack.

Later, around 5:30 pm, the Jahangirnagar University unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) also organised a separate human chain at the same venue on the same issue.

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Sadi, president of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall JCD, said, “The attack on our fellow students is not an isolated incident. Since August 5, mob violence has been occurring in different parts of the country.”

He also urged the interim government to take strong action against those responsible for the attacks.
