Anisul, Razzaque and 10 others appear virtually in uprising cases

DHAKA, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 12 accused including former law 
minister Anisul Huq, former agriculture minister Dr Abdur Razzaque and former 
food minister Qamrul Islam today appeared virtually before a court here in 
cases filed over murders and attempts to murder committed during the July-
August Mass Uprising.

The other accused, who appeared virtually before the court of Dhaka 
Metropolitan Magistrate Ehsanul Islam, are-- Salman F Rahman, Hasnul Haque 
Inu, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Zuanid Ahmed Palak, Rashed Khan Menon, Amir 
Hossain Amu, Dr Dipu Moni, Sadek Khan and Dhirendra Devnath Shambhu.

All the accused are kept at Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, Additional 
Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (admin) Main Uddin Chowdhury of Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) prosecution wing told BSS.

Of the 12, Anisul appeared in four killing cases filed with the New Market, 
Jatrabari, Kafrul and Badda Police Stations, Salman in two cases with the New 
Market and Badda Police Stations and two other cases with the Jatrabari 
Police Station. Hasanul Haque Inu appeared in two separate cases filed with 
the Jatrabari and New Market Police Stations, Kamal Majumder in a murder case 
with the Kafrul Police Station, Amu and Qamrul appeared in two cases filed 
with the New Market and Jatrabari Police Stations.

Former agriculture minister Abdur Razzaque appeared two separate cases filed 
with the New Market Police Station and Uttara West Police Station, while 
Palak appeared in Badda and Jatrabari Police Stations cases, Dipu Moni 
appeared in two cases filed with the Jatrabari and Badda Police Stations. 

Menon appeared in two cases filed with the New Market and Jatrabari Police 
Stations and Sadek Khan appeared in one case filed with the Adabor Police 
Station and another two cases filed with the Jatrabari Police Station.
