Emergency meeting of Jamaat's Central Executive Council held

DHAKA, Sept 01, 2025 (BSS) - An emergency meeting of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held in the capital this morning.

Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman presided over the meeting, while nayeb-e-ameers, the secretary general, assistant secretary generals, and members of the executive council attended the meeting held at Bashundhara at 11 am.

The meeting discussed in detail the country's current political situation.

The leaders stressed the need to provide a legal basis for the July National Charter 2025 and to ensure that the upcoming parliamentary elections are free, fair, and acceptable in line with the charter.

The meeting also reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami's strong stance on ensuring equal opportunities for all political parties ahead of the elections and on holding the polls under the Proportional Representation (PR) system.
