Man dies after being hit by train at Banani

DHAKA, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - A young man was killed today after being hit by a train at Chairman-Bari railway gate in the capital's Banani.
 
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Anich Mia, 25, a garment worker by profession, son of Mojibur Rahman. He hailed from Tirsha village under Sherpur Sadar district and currently lives in Korail Slum area of Mohakhali.
 
The accident occurred at around 2:30 pm today while crossing the road on his way home from the garments to have lunch.
 
Later, he was rescued in a serious condition and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead around 5 pm today.
 
Brother of the deceased Ashikur Rahman, who brought the deceased to the hospital, said, "My brother used to work as a garment worker at Chairmanbari Shikha Garments. He was seriously injured when a train hit him in the afternoon while crossing the railway line at Chairmanbari on his way home from garments to have food. Later, we received the news and rescued him and took him to Dhaka Medical College where the doctor declared him dead."
