Ex-secretary Abu Alam Shahid Khan held in city

DHAKA, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested former secretary Abu Alam Md Shahid Khan from the capital's Eskaton area early today. 

He was arrested around 2:30am today, Deputy Commissioner of the DB (media and public relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman told BSS. 

He was shown arrested in a case filed with Shahbagh Police Station. 

Meanwhile, five more leaders and activists of the Awami League (activities banned) and its associate organizations were arrested from different parts of the capital in the last 24 hours.

They were arrested for bringing out sudden processions in the capital with the intension of destabilizing the country.
