DHAKA, Sept 9, 2025 (BSS) - Financial Institutions Division (FID) has cancelled the remaining tenure of AFM Shahinul Islam's contractual appointment as the head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).

The division took the decision in line with Article 7 of the agreement signed with him, according to a circular issued by the FID today.

The order also said that the cancellation comes in the public interest and will take immediate effect.
