Court attaches Tk 14 crore property of ex-minister Bir Bahadur

DHAKA, Oct 08, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to attach immovable properties worth of Taka 14 crore of former Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur U Shwe Sing and his wife Ma Hla Pru over graft allegations.

The court also ordered to freeze 12 bank accounts of the couple.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Of the properties, Bir Bahadur owns plots worth Taka 12.75 crore, while his wife has plots worth of Taka 1.28 crore. Apart from these, the court also ordered to attach a new Heno AC Bus and a sedan owned by Ma Hla Pru.

The ACC in its plea said it has filed a case against the couple for amassing illegal wealth of crores through corruption and abusing power. 

Information of these movable and immovable properties was found while investigating the case. For the sake of proper investigation, the properties should be attached immediately, the ACC plea added.
