DHAKA, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS)- BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said his party in spite of everything has confidence in the interim government of Dr Yunus.

He said this while talking to journalists during a visit to provide assistance to elderly poor Abdul Gani Jamaddar and his wife of Boro Bighai union of Patuakhali sadar upazila on behalf of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Rizvi said, “Sheikh Hasina has signed agreement with India’s private company Adani not for the country’s interest, but rather in the interest of that company. As a result, Bangladesh’s sovereignty and interests both have been harmed.”

He said all agreements and investments must protect the national interests. Any agreement with foreign companies must not weaken the country’s independence and security.

“If ports and other important infrastructure gradually go under the control of foreign operators, questions will arise regarding the country’s security and sovereignty,” he added.

“Dr Yunus must take the issues into consideration,” he said adding that “People are frustrated in many as many decisions of the government went against the interests of the country.”

At the time, Patuakhali District BNP President Snehangshu Sarkar Kutti, General Secretary Advocate Mujibur Rahman Toton and the convener of the ‘Amra BNP Poribar’ journalist Atikur Rahman Ruman, among others, were present.
