Army extends aid to needy, helpless in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, Nov 16, 2025 (BSS)  - The Bangladesh Army has extended various forms of assistance to the needy and helpless residents of Bandarban, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian and community welfare activities in the hill district.

A day-long free medical camp, view-exchange and distribution of gift items, sports equipment, and books were organized by the Alikadam Army Zone in Bandarban on Sunday. 

The humanitarian initiative, held at Mro Complex, provided medical services to more than one hundred Mro men, women and students.

Bandarban Region Commander Brigadier General SM Rakib Ibne Rezwan attended the event as the chief guest. 

Alikadam Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Manjur Alam, Alikadam Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mirza Zahir Uddin and Chairman Karukpata Union Kratpung Mro were present as special guests.

During the programme, Brigadier General Rezwan discussed the lifestyle, education, health, and basic needs of the Mro community and assured them of continued support from the Bangladesh Army.

Following the discussion, the Region Commander distributed sports equipment and books among Mro students. Greeting gifts were also given to students of the Mro Kalyan Student Hostel, and cash assistance was provided to attending members of the community.

An army medical team offered a range of health services at the free camp, including treatment for general illnesses, child and maternal healthcare, dental checkups, and distribution of essential medicines.
