Tea auction shows robust demand in 29th week

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - The weekly tea sale on Monday saw stronger 
demand and competition, with all market sections operating more strongly. 
Blenders provided support, and there was more interest from loose tea buyers, 
leading to higher prices and fewer withdrawals.

Dusts were in high demand and prices increased.

The details of the sale are excerpts as below: 

CTC LEAF: 49,686 packages of tea on offer met with a stronger demand.

Brokens: High-quality Brokens continued to sell strongly, with some varieties 
rising by Taka 3-5. Smaller varieties were in high demand, seeing significant 
price gains, while medium varieties also performed well, with prices up to 
Taka 5 higher. Plainer varieties attracted more interest and remained stable 
to slightly higher. BLF teas were in strong demand, pushing prices up.

Fannings: High-quality fannings remained in strong demand, with prices rising 
by Taka 5 or more. Medium varieties were also popular, seeing price 
increases, while plainer teas held steady with slight gains. BLF teas 
continued to attract strong demand, pushing prices higher.
 
Dust: A total of 10,235 packages were in strong demand. Good-quality dusts 
sold well at higher prices, while medium-grade teas saw prices rise by Taka 
5-8 depending on quality. Plain and BLF dusts also attracted increased demand 
with no withdrawals. Both blenders and loose tea buyers remained highly 
active.
