Mohammedan beat Abahani 3-2 in BFL

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - Defending champions Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited registered their first win in the Bangladesh Football League (BFL) beating their arch-rival Abahani Limited Dhaka by 3-2 exciting goals in a match held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla today (Monday). 

The league went on hiatus again from October 20, after the end of second round and finally returns to the field today after thirty -three days break.

Forward Mohammad Rahim Uddin put Mohammedan ahead in the 20th minute while Ghaninan defender Eli Keke Emmanuel doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Mohammedan in the 32nd minute of the match.

Back with a healthy 2-0 lead, Mohammedan started the second half and added another goal to their tally when Ghanaian forward Samuel Boateng further widned the margin scoring the third goal for Mohammedan in the 58th minute of the match.

Abahani however staged a brilliant fight back in the match as midfielder Papon Sing pulled one back in the 73rd minute. Promising midfielder Sheikh Morsalin further reduced the margin scoring the second goal for Abahani in the 78th minute.

Abahani Limited will face Police Football Club while Mohammedan face Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club in their respective next matches on November 28 and 29 respectively.
