RANGPUR, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS) - The Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) authority published the revised voter list for the Begum Rokeya University Central Students Union (BRUCSU) and Hall Students Union Elections- 2025.

"The revised voter list has been handed over to the BRUCSU Election Commission-2025 which can now resume the election process which was suspended since December 1, 2005 due to the defective voter list," BRUR VC Prof Dr Md Showkat told BSS tonight.

Based on the revised student list received by the university authorities, the list of undergraduate students for the academic years 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 and postgraduate students for the academic years 2022-2023, 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 has been published.

"If the students have any objections to the published revised voter list, they are asked to submit it in writing to the Election Commission office between 10 am to 4 pm on December 4 and 10 am to 12 pm on December 7, 2025" a BRUR press release said.

As per the announced schedule for BRUCSU Elections-2025, the distribution of nomination papers began on Sunday (November 30) and continued till Monday afternoon.

However, the Election Commission announced postponement of the BRUCSU Election-2025 in a press briefing in front of the administrative building on Monday (December 1, 2025) at 4:30 pm.

At that time, Election Commissioner Dr Mohsina Ahsan on behalf of the six-member Election Commission said that distribution of nomination papers and other activities in the schedule will be suspended until the inconsistencies in the hall-based voter list are resolved.

The Election Commissioner urged the Registrar's Office to promptly correct all the errors, omissions, duplications and inconsistencies in the hall-based voter list and provide a revised and verified voter list so that the election process can be resumed without delay.

The BRUCSU and Hall Students Union Elections- 2025 are scheduled to be held for the first time on December 24, 2025.
