BNP arranges Reel Making Competition on Tarique Rahman’s return

 DHAKA, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS)- BNP announced a programme  titled "Amar Bhabonay Bangladesh-National Reel Making Competition" to mark the upcoming return of the party's Acting Chairman Tareque Rahman after nearly 18 years.

BNP Acting Chairman’s adviser Mahdi Amin today announced the programme at a press conference in Gulshan. 

He said, "The reflection of the country's interests, sovereignty, and the people's expectations is a fundamental theme of the future politics of BNP. Keeping this goal in mind, a national reel-making competition is being launched by BNP to celebrate Tarique Rahman's return,” he said.

This national reel-making competition, themed 'Amar Bhabonay Bangladesh' launched today and would continue until December 25. People from all classes and professions, both domestically and internationally, can submit their plans, expectations, and thoughts online through a one-minute reel video, he added.

Mentioning the return of Tarique Rahman to home,  Mahdi said, "The Acting Chairman will return to Bangladesh on Thursday, December 25, Inshallah. His return has generated intense emotion, aspiration, and interest among the masses."

"Tarique Rahman believes that to build the future Bangladesh, every pro-democracy person must work together, shoulder-to-shoulder, rising above politics and ideology. Everyone must unite for the country and its people in nation-building," he added. 

The Acting Chairman’s adviser further said that Tarique Rahman firmly believes that this Bangladesh belongs to everyone, where all must unite to build the country, rising above religion, caste, ideology, philosophy, politics and status.

The primary objective of this competition is to involve every citizen in the great plan of nation-building. It also aims to incorporate the thoughts and plans of the masses into the party's direction as a people-oriented political party.

He informed that eleven themes have been selected for the first phase of the competition. Participants can choose any one of these themes to create their one-minute reel.

The themes are- Family Card, Farmer Card, Health, Employment, Education, Environment, Sports, Respect for Imams and Muezzins, Welfare of Expatriates, and Corruption-Free Bangladesh. 

The reels can be posted from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok accounts.

The caption must include the hashtag: (Bangladesh First).The post must be shared in the officially verified Facebook page event created by the BNP. All content received from today until December 25 will be evaluated.

"30% of the score will be determined by public opinion, based on social media engagement. A Jury Board will determine the remaining 70%, considering subject-based presentation, creativity, and social impact.

Mahdi further mentioned that a hotline number will be provided for any questions or confusion from the participants.

The biggest attraction of the competition is that the top 10 winners, selected on a merit basis, will be given the opportunity for an exclusive discussion with the Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman at an event.

Mahdi stated that the 'Amara Bhabonay Bangladesh' programme expresses a commitment to build a Bangladesh where human rights, freedom of speech, the rule of law, and equal opportunities for all are ensured.

The main goal of this initiative is to create an opportunity to highlight the thoughts and plans of people from every level from rural areas to cities through this reel competition.

Member of the BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council and former secretary Ismail Zabiullah, former World Bank official Dr. Ziauddin Haider, Head of the Content Generation Team of BNP and Special Assistant to the Foreign Affairs Committee Dr. Saimum Parvez, among others, were present.
