DHAKA, Dec 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the demise of three-time Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a message of condolence, DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali described her demise as a profound loss to the nation's political landscape. 

He prayed for the eternal peace of her departed soul and extended heartfelt sympathies to her bereaved family

Born a prominent figure in Bangladesh's politics, Begum Khaleda Zia, who served the country as Prime Minister on three occasions and led the BNP for decades, leaving a lasting imprint on national politics, died at the Evercare Hospital at 6pm today.
