DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) – BNP-nominated candidate for the Dhaka-16 constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election, slated for February 12, Aminul Haque today said everyone has the right to seek votes, but conspiracy will not be tolerated.

He said, “As a believer in democratic values, I respect the freedom of campaigning of all candidates. However, any conspiracy to discourage voters from going to polling centres by collecting their NID and bKash numbers and offering money will be dealt with firmly.”

He made the remarks on the sixth day of his election campaign during extensive door-to-door canvassing in Mirpur’s Benarasi Palli and adjacent areas.

At the start of the campaign, he told journalists, “So far, the law and order situation in my area remains normal. I want to establish democracy with utmost tolerance and patience. We want every political party to have equal rights. From my side, I am extending full cooperation to rival parties so that they can campaign freely.”

He further said, “In an election, voters cast their votes freely; there is no legal basis for collecting NID or bKash numbers. To prevent this attempt at rigging by intimidating or misleading voters, we have already informed the Returning Officer and the Election Commission in writing.”
