DMP files 1,573 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,573 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on January 6 through regular drive against traffic rules breakers, according to a press release issued here today. 

It said the DMP traffic police dumped 413 motor vehicles and towed 155 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rules violation on January 28.

The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets. 

During the drive, Ramna division filed 105 cases, Lalbagh division registered 119 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 203 cases, Wari division registered 92 cases, Tejgaon division filed 166 cases, Mirpur division filed 552 cases, Uttara division registered 158 cases and Gulshan division filed 178 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
