DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS)- Adviser to the BNP Chairperson and chief coordinator of the BNP election steering committee for Dhaka-17 constituency Abdus Salam today said conspiracies are underway precisely because it is understood that BNP's victory in the upcoming national election scheduled for February 12 is certain.
He said, "Some political parties know that if the election is held fairly, BNP will win with the people's massive votes, Insha'Allah. Therefore, they are trying to question the election. They are hatching conspiracies to mislead the people."
Abdus Salam made the remarks while addressing a roadside rally during the election campaign in Dhaka-17 constituency on behalf of Tarique Rahman.
Salam said, "No acceptable election has been held in the country for the last 17 to 18 years. During this time, the people were deprived of their voting rights."
He claimed that Sheikh Hasina did not hold elections for only one reason; they knew that if elections were held, BNP would win.
He said, "From 1972 to 1975, Awami League destroyed the country. After that, the Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman built the country. After the mass movement of the nineties, Begum Khaleda Zia came to power and again worked to build the country."
Mentioning that BNP does not do politics with religion, Abdus Salam said, "BNP does not do politics with the Liberation War; BNP does politics for the welfare of the people."
He also warned that attempts will be made to mislead the people centering the upcoming election.
Referring to local problems, he said if Tarique Rahman is elected, he will be brought to the area and then road construction work will begin.
He also claimed that if Tarique Rahman comes to power, problems in every household will be solved.
Abdus Salam further said that those who cannot come to power cannot bring any change either. He urged people to vote for the Paddy Sheaf if they want to change their life.
