DHAKA, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today inaugurated a free animal treatment centre in the capital's Banani area, aiming to ensure accessible healthcare services for animals.

The clinic has been set up by the Bangladesh Animal Welfare Association (BAWA) to provide free treatment, primary healthcare and necessary consultations for animals.

Formally opening the facility, Tarique Rahman expressed hope that the initiative would contribute significantly to protecting animal health and promoting animal welfare across the country.

According to BAWA authorities, the clinic will remain open to the public and offer medical consultations, basic treatment and other essential healthcare services for animals without charge.

BNP Media Cell member Atikur Rahman Ruman, senior leaders of the organising body and animal rights activists were present at the inauguration ceremony.
