
PANCHAGARH, March 25, 2026 (BSS) - At least six shops were gutted in a massive fire that broke out around midnight in Tin Patti Road Bazar area of the district town.
Initial reports said that the fire may have started due to an electrical short circuit. Traders affected by the blaze have estimated that losses could amount to several crores of taka.
Following the incident, State Minister for Water Resources Farhad Hossain Azad visited the affected area today. During the inspection, he toured the burnt shops and spoke with the affected traders.
Describing the fire as a “terrible accident,” the state minister said he was informed of the incident late at night. He praised the local residents and fire service personnel for their quick response in bringing the fire under control.
He assured that the government stands with the victims and that necessary assistance would be provided to help them.
The fire, which broke out late on Tuesday (March 24), was brought under control within approximately 40 minutes with the efforts of three fire service units assisted by local residents.
