DHAKA, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has expressed 
deep sorrow over the passing of noted educationist Professor Dilara Hafiz, 
wife of Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS).

In a condolence message issued here today, the minister prayed for eternal 
peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved 
family.

He described Dilara Hafiz as a dedicated educationist whose contributions to 
the country's education sector are significant and enduring. 

"Her lifelong service will remain a source of inspiration for education 
enthusiasts across the nation," the minister added.

Dilara Hafiz, a former Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Secondary 
and Higher Education (DSHE) and former Principal of Eden Mohila College, 
passed away today at the age of 78 while undergoing treatment at Singapore 
General Hospital.
