Kaikobad leaves for Saudi Arabia to attend Umrah, Ziyarah Forum

DHAKA, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad today left for Saudi Arabia to attend the third edition of Umrah and Ziyarah Forum, marking his first official foreign tour after assuming office.
 
He departed Dhaka this afternoon by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.

The minister is visiting Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah to join the third edition of the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum.

The forum will be held from March 30 to April 1 at the King Salman International Convention Center, aiming to improve services for Umrah pilgrims and facilitate more visitors in performing their religious rituals.

The event will be held under the patronage and in the presence of Madinah Region Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

During the visit, the minister will also hold a bilateral meeting with Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah and review the progress of this year's Hajj activities with officials of the Bangladesh Hajj Mission.

He will also inspect hotels rented for accommodating Bangladeshi pilgrims. The minister is scheduled to return home on April 5.
