NARAYANGANJ, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Administrator Advocate Md. Sakhawat Hossain Khan today announced strict measures to provide lasting solutions to the city's persistent traffic congestion and hawker problems.

Speaking at an exchange-of-views meeting with journalists at the Nagar Bhaban auditorium, he said, "No political or factional obstacles will be tolerated regarding auto-rickshaw control and hawker eviction."

The NCC Administrator highlighted that regulating auto-rickshaws and managing hawkers are major challenges for the city corporation.

"We have already taken effective initiatives to address these issues. The entire auto-rickshaw system will be disciplined through digital number plates and ID cards for drivers. Additionally, hawkers on Bangabandhu Road will be promptly evicted and arrangements will be made for their rehabilitation," he added.

Referring to the media as the fourth pillar of the state, Sakhawat Hossain Khan emphasized the role of journalists in tackling urban problems. "Objective reporting by journalists will strengthen our efforts and help resolve the city's issues," he said.
