DHAKA, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Dilara Hafiz, wife of Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bir Bikram).

In a condolence message today, party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan Manju and General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.

The leaders said Dilara Hafiz was a distinguished educationist, a compassionate and noble personality, and a benevolent figure in society. Her life, they noted, stood as a shining example of human values, morality and strong family ideals.

They added that with her passing, the nation has lost a devoted educationist, homemaker and social worker -- an irreparable loss for the country.

Dilara Hafiz, a former Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) and former Principal of Eden Mohila College, passed away today at the age of 78 while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.
