DHAKA, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture Minister 
Aminur Rashid today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of noted 
educationist Professor Dilara Hafiz, wife of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker 
Major (retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram.

In a condolence message, the minister said Dilara Hafiz was a dedicated 
educationist who made significant contributions to the expansion and 
development of education in the country throughout her long career, which 
will be remembered with respect. 

"With her death, the nation has lost a competent and responsible guardian," 
he added.

The minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep 
sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family.
