PABNA, March 28, 2026 (BSS) - Member of Parliament (MP) from Pabna-5 (Sadar) constituency Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas has said that there can be no greater work than ensuring the safety of the motherland, stressing the need to prioritize people and truth above all.
"If we can make our motherland safe, there can be no better work than this. People are above all, and truth is above them-- we must work towards that goal," he said, adding that meaningful change requires sincere effort and continuous initiative.
The lawmaker made these remarks while addressing a Bijaya Dashami of Basanti Puja greetings exchange and donation distribution programme as the chief guest at the Sri Sri Joykalibari Temple in Pabna city on Saturday afternoon.
Shimul Biswas emphasized that good intentions must be matched by action.
"It is not enough to speak good words, we must do good deeds and set examples. Bad deeds spread automatically, but good deeds must be nurtured and made visible," he said.
He urged all to avoid wrongdoing and live together in harmony.
Highlighting his commitment to inclusive development, the MP said he would strive to ensure that people of all religions, castes, and communities benefit equally.
He also expressed his intention to seek support from both domestic and international sources and ensure fair distribution.
"If I can play even a small role in building a safer and better system free from sorrow, poverty, disease, and lawlessness, I will continue to do so," he added.
