Delivering quality healthcare at people's doorstep govt's top goal: Whip Bakul

KHULNA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - Jatiya Sangsad whip and Member of Parliament from Khulna-3 constituency Rakibul Islam Bakul today said the government's goal is to deliver quality healthcare services at the doorsteps of common people.
 
"Khalishpur Lal Hospital and the Scout Field are two very important institutions of our area. These will be transformed into more effective service centers for the people through modernization and development initiatives," said the JS whip while visiting the hospital and the field in the Khalishpur area of the Khulna city this afternoon.

During the visit, he inspected the overall condition of both establishments and exchanged views with officials and staff concerned.

The whip inquired about medical services, infrastructure, manpower shortages, necessary equipment and overall service quality at Lal Hospital. 

He also discussed in detail the present condition, usability and future development plans of the Scout Field.

He listened to various problems and prospects from the authorities concerned and assured that necessary steps would be taken for quick resolution.

Bakul said that Lal Hospital would be upgraded into a full-fledged healthcare center with modern medical facilities by ensuring the addition of necessary equipment, recruitment of skilled doctors and nurses and infrastructural development.

Regarding the Scout Field, he said it would be developed not only for sports but also as a center for the physical and mental development of youth and children. 

Various sports, cultural activities, training and social service initiatives would be implemented there to play a significant role in the overall development of the area.

At one stage of the visit, he also held discussions with local leaders on development planning, expansion of public services and infrastructural improvement and provided necessary directives.

Local residents welcomed the initiative and expressed hope for its early implementation.

Among others present were doctors of Khulna Medical College Hospital, including Dr. Abu Zafar Mohammad Saleh (General Secretary, DAB) and Dr. Minhajul Alam (Assistant Registrar), along with local BNP leaders and activists.
