Fakhrul mourns death of Asha Bhosle

DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today expressed condolences at the death of Indian playback singer and businesswoman Asha Bhosle.

The legendary artist passed away this noon at a hospital in Mumbai. 

In a condolence message, Mirza Fakhrul said Asha Bhosle was a unique and iconic versatile artist in the musical history of the subcontinent. 

"Over a career spanning more than eight decades, her melodious voice touched the hearts of millions through thousands of songs. She not only sang in Hindi but also recorded songs in multiple Indian and foreign languages, taking music to a global audience," he added. 

The Minister added that her extraordinary mastery across genres, from classical and folk to ghazal and modern pop, elevated her to an unparalleled stature.
