DMP official Kohinoor gets promotion to Addl. DIG

DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) – The government has promoted a Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre officer and former deputy commissioner (west) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Md Kohinoor Mian to Additional Deputy Inspector General with retrospective effect. 

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Police-1 Branch) today, Kohinoor Mian, former Deputy Commissioner (West), has been promoted to the rank of Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) (Grade-4).

The promotion has been made effective from April 7, 2015.

As per rules, he will be entitled to get arrears of salary and allowances applicable to the post from the effective date.

The order, issued for the sake of public interest which will come into effect immediately, the notification added.
